Ribnica sits on the road between Ljubljana and the Kolpa river. Close enough to both to make a stop worthwhile, and quiet enough to stay longer. Motorhome travellers can stop at two managed locations. The first one is at the Handicraft Centre, a few steps from the town centre, the second one two kilometres out of town on the edge of the forest. The two complement each other, because the first offers electricity for a short stop and the second one full vehicle servicing. Both are parking areas intended for a stop and neither is an accommodation establishment.

A parking area in the immediate vicinity of the town centre, with a post supplying electricity. Four parking spaces are available, electricity is paid according to consumption, one euro per kilowatt hour. Next to the parking area there is a bicycle repair station, another one stands at the pump track.
A stop here suits charging the batteries and a short visit of the town. There is no drinking water, no grey water disposal, no chemical toilet disposal and no sanitary facilities at this location.
During larger events in town the area can be occupied or closed. It is worth calling the Handicraft Centre before arrival.

A fenced motorhome parking area on the edge of the forest, two kilometres from the centre of Ribnica. Eight parking spaces, no limit on vehicle length or height, open all year round. Cars with a roof tent and caravans are welcome as well.
Entry is automatic with a QR code, without a reception desk and without waiting. You buy the ticket on the website, receive the code by e-mail and show it to the scanner at the entrance. Arrival is therefore not tied to opening hours.
Two tickets are available. The two hour service stop includes fresh water, sanitary facilities, grey water disposal and chemical toilet disposal. The 24 hour stop includes all of that and a 230 V electricity connection. Current prices and occasional offers are on hirschwaldhof.si.

Which location for which stop
If you stop in Ribnica to visit the town and only need electricity, the parking area at the Handicraft Centre is closest to everything. The museum, the castle and the shops with wooden ware are within a short walk.
If your grey water tanks are full and the cassette needs emptying, or if you are staying longer than a few hours, Hirschwald Hof is the only location in the municipality with full servicing. The same applies during larger events, when the parking area in town can be closed.
